What to Expect
My setup doesn’t take up much room – a 4x4ft area is usually enough. I’ll bring an easel, a small table for supplies, easel lamp if necessary and of course a large piece of black fabric to cover and protect the floor.
I like to arrive about 2 hours before the event begins so I can get a feel for the environment before I start painting. I'll settle on the composition and begin painting in the background first. As guests start to arrive, I start adding them in too! I love engaging and talking with interested guests as I am working, so feel free to let your guests know they don’t have to be shy!
If there is a specific point in the day/evening you particularly want portrayed, just let me know.
My goal is to capture the energy and memory of your wedding celebration and immortalize it in a work of art that you will cherish for generations!
After I've painted for a few hours with the guests present, I make sure the painting is safely transported back to my studio for touch-ups and any requested customization. I like to spend extra time in my studio painting a more detailed portrait of the bride and groom. Depending on the canvas size and amount of detail involved in the studio work, I'm typically ready to deliver the completed painting a few months following the wedding. (I also now offer a complete on-site option for clients working with a tight budget. Click HERE to see my current packages.)

FAQs
Q . What size canvases do you offer?
A. I have four standard sizes to choose from, but custom sizes are available upon request:
18in x 24in
24in x 30in
24in x 36in
30in x 40in
Q . How does payment work?
A. I ask for 50% payment upfront to secure your date and the remaining 50% is due upon delivery of your completed painting.
Q . Will I need to frame my painting?
A. You can if you want to, but you don't have to. I use heavy-duty gallery wrapped canvas and make sure to continue the painting around the 1.5in thick edges so your painting is ready to hang as soon as you receive it!
Q . How long does it usually take for my painting to be completed?
A. Depending on the canvas size and amount of detail involved, I'm typically ready to deliver your completed painting a few months following your wedding day. (It could take longer if I’m waiting on photos to help with detail, or it could take less if you need it by a certain date and request that I expedite completion. I try to finish paintings in the order of when events occur, but if you have a reason that you need your painting by a certain date, let me know and I’ll do my best to work with you!)
Q . Will you bring my painting to me when it's finished, or do I have to pick it up?
A. I will bring the painting to you (or ship it if necessary). I'm very flexible and can bring it directly to your home or meet at a different location according to your preference.
Q . Are you available for destination weddings/travel?
A. Normally I’m happy to travel to paint events, but I am currently only accepting jobs in the Cleveland area. (Sorry!)
Q . If my date is no longer available, can you create a painting from a photograph?
A. Yes, I do create studio paintings in a very similar style to my live event paintings. I know it's not quite the same, but if you have a photo or photo(s) from your wedding that you would like to be used to create a painting, this is definitely the next best thing!
